Clear Targets

The Environment

We understand that for ALL students to succeed they need to know what it is the teacher wants them to learn. Our program adopts the Utah Common Core Standards for Foreign Language and the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. We strive to prepare students to use their language in the real world.

As students are part of the experience at Lakeridge, they begin to realize that failure is NOT an option. Your student will be in an environment that fosters success and demands they put forth an effort to learn. Success can be achieved through effort and working with the resources available.

A Place for Learning

Our Philosophy

We believe that teachers do their best work in groups, not in isolation. We work together as teachers to respond to student learning, to adapt our teaching styles, and to find ways to meet the needs of all students.

Variety & Fun

We want your student to be proficient in French. That means a focus on speaking, reading, writing, and listening. These are our objectives or "I cans." Students also need to work hard to study the language. For this, we ask students to study vocabulary online, watch videos, read books, and we have several field trips and cultural events throughout the school year to create a fun experience for our language students.
